BETH AND CARYNS EDITING

Caryn and I have been spending some time editing our film. We cut some of the clip of Gaby lying in the boot because we noticed her face moved slightly,we wanted her to look dead so we only kept the part where she is still so it is realistic. We fastened up the section where the boot is shut to highlight the urgency, and we made the car drive faster because we wanted the killers/car drivers to come across crazy and daring. The sound of the boot shutting could not be heard so we inserted a sound effect, the sound effect was loud so it will hopefully make the audience jump. We decided to work on the moment where the bad girls meet eye contact with the girl passing by - we made the section slow motion by changing the speed to 30% instead of 100%. The slow motion works really well because it emphasises the fact they have seen one another (this is vital!) ... it also creates an intense atmosphere. We also inserted an additive disolve transition, this made the girl passing by look ghostly.

We had to crop some of the shots because you could see cars driving in the background, we didn't want it to look unrealistic... obviously no one would dump a body with people around.
The problem with cropping the video was that it made certain parts blurry, like the high angle shot of the junk yard - we resolved this by making the next shots look like cctv. This way it just looked like poor cttv camera quality. The CCTV section was not planned, we accidently came across it and thought it would look really good - as if we were being watched.

We had to cut the clip where Connor and George throw the body bag into the air so that you could not see them catch the bag when they let go. This way it looks as if the bag has flown off the side and into the water. We edited in the sound of the splash to make this clear.

We edited the moment I watch the bad characters leave by the barbed wire because it went on for too long, and we only have 2 minutes to fit everything in. We cut it up and just kept my best expressions and movements, to make it run smoothly we used fades and dissolves.

The cineon converter made it look as though i was running into the distance, this changes the coloring and contrast - we made it change gradually instead of just going from normal by adding so the background eventually goes white and distorted.

at the end of the film we have faded out the music slowly so that we can hear the paramedic open the body bag and say 'we've got another one.' before, the music played over him speaking and it looked stupid!
