Barbed wire is generally seen as an eery object because of how it is designed to keep things in or out by being sharp and painful to touch. I  think the person filming in our thriller should be watching the bad guys up close through barbed up as if they are not supposed to be there. The fact that the person filming is having to sneak and watch from another area suggests they don't know what is going on  and what to find out, this is exactly the same position the audience are in - so they can relate to eachother! This idea builds tension and suspense because everyone is trying to figure out what is happening.
